Since January 2023, Fresh Produce Centre has taken over the export statistics from the Quality Control Bureau (KCB). A new Export Statistics System has been developed for this purpose, with which weekly data can be supplied digitally. Last week the go-ahead was given for the collaboration between Growers United's new packaging center - especially for Paprico's block peppers - and jem-id. GreenCommerce is being used for this packaging location; the software that controls the entire production process at the location. A number of specific solutions and setting up an integration platform are part of this project.
In 2022, with the Watermelon release, various developments have already been made in the QC App, whereby an automated mechanism has been created for performing quality inspections. Since last year, service provider and trading company Europe Retail Packing (ERP) has implemented digital order picking through the WMS App of GreenCommerce. A new link between GreenCommerce and Work IT Packaging has been realized for Looye Kwekers. The tomato grower has been working with GreenCommerce for years to manage commercial business processes. There are quite a few barcodes in circulation within the fresh produce industry. In addition to the product labels, there are also box labels and pallet labels. From the Quince release it is possible in every overview screen to enable selection totals via the column selector. The second quarterly release of 2020 is the Nectarine release. The release comes with a development for withdrawing usage of an order. This makes it possible to withdraw several lines of the order usage at once. An option has also been added to withdraw the total usage of an order.
The FreshTracker quality control application has been developed for GreenCommerce users for fresh produce companies that have to inspect products and guarantee food safety. With this application, inspection reports can be drawn up and results can be shared throughout the chain so that traceability is optimally guaranteed.
We were visiting Euro West and had a nice chat with Stefan van Marrewijk. Within Euro West, Stefan is mainly concerned with food safety and certifications. He is also the person who is engaged in optimizing the use of GreenCommerce. Together with Bart Bellemans (operational manager) they are continuously looking at how processes / working methods can be improved so that they can stay ahead.
The Mango release also improves the process of scheduling purchase and sales orders for transport or shipment. Previously, it was already possible to choose to plan a line in an existing transport order when planning transport. To make this process faster and more user-friendly, we have made it clearer which transport order contained the other lines of the order. As a user you want to be able to see at a glance which transport order already contains purchase or sales order lines, so that the new line(s) can easily be added.
Recently, GreenCommerce user Timerfruit and Karsten Suiderland Logistics (KSL) have further professionalised the collaboration by digitally connecting each other's systems. In this way, both parties are able to exchange data about logistical processes such as expected goods, production and shipment fully automatically with each other, resulting in a major efficiency improvement. The real-time link between the two parties is established through the use of FreshBabel as a medium to exchange information with each other.
The Mango release contains a new development that optimizes the process of splitting off mixed pallets. When splitting off a mixed pallet, the original pallet with the pallet number will be retained in the new situation. So a new pallet with a new pallet number will be created for what you will eventually consume or ship. Just like when splitting off a "none-mixed pallet"!
The Mango release also comes with a logical improvement in the emailing of documents from GreenCommerce. As a follow-up to the standardization of GreenCommerce, we have now set up all screens where system documents could be e-mailed in the same way.
