StC International is ready for the future thanks to optimal use of GreenCommerce
Over the past 1.5 years, StC International has focused on making the organization future-proof, partly by implementing various extensions to their GreenCommerce software package. Thanks to improvements in the warehouse via the WMS App, QC App and a transition to pallet registration, StC International has more control over daily activities and is prepared for the future.
StC International: Source to Consumer
Immediately after its founding, StC International started using GreenCommerce to digitize their processes. As a trade organization in the fresh produce sector, StC International stands for quality and transparency. They supply fruit and vegetables all year round and export them worldwide. In addition to their main location in Honselersdijk, they also have locations in Poland and France. Over the past 5 years, they have grown rapidly as an organization in personnel, cultivation locations and product volume.
In order to control the growth, they made the choice last year to take the organization to a higher level together with jem-id. Maurik Molenaar, Operational Manager at StC International, begins: “A few years ago we moved to another building and thus had our own hall at our disposal. In order to cope with the continued growth, we started looking at the possibilities in GreenCommerce together with jem-id. From cultivation to sales and production; all links are included.”
Improvement through automation
Due to the transition from batch registration to pallet registration, various extensions have become available to them in GreenCommerce, such as the WMS App and the QC App. In the warehouse, order pickers and quality employees work daily with tablets that are directly connected to the sales system. Maurik: “We now have direct insight into the quality status via the QC App and the WMS App has provided more insight into the pilot processes. We don't easily surprised anymore because changes are immediately visible and we can respond quickly. This makes the order picking process much simpler.”
Improvements have also been made to the commercial process. Changes made during the sale are immediately visible in the warehouse. This ensures fewer communication moments during the process. Maurik continues: “We have also recently started investigating our options with Power BI via GreenCommerce's Data Warehouse package. We obtain more and more valuable information from these dashboards. It is very interesting to be able to observe processes and draw conclusions from them.”
In addition to the on-site processes at StC International, an affiliated grower has started working with GreenXchange; the grower platform linked to GreenCommerce. “The application ensures that our grower can work independently and information is visible to everyone involved when entered in GreenXchange.” said Maurik
Future perspective
StC International is driven to continue this growth. Partly due to the collaboration with jem-id, they have all the resources in-house to coordinate the departments even better. “jem-id employs people who are willing to think along about everything. The lines are short and that works very well. They understand our challenges, which are sometimes company-specific, and try to find a solution using the software. This ensures that we can take quick steps with StC International.” concludes Maurik.
