Efficient reporting of export statistics with GreenCommerce and Fresh Produce Centre integration
Since January 2023, Fresh Produce Centre has taken over the export statistics from the Quality Control Bureau (KCB). A new Export Statistics System has been developed for this purpose, with which weekly data can be supplied digitally. Software company jem-id has realized an integration with Fresh Produce Centre, which makes it possible for users of GreenCommerce to easily and accurately manage and supply data via the software package.
Fresh produce companies were requested to report their export statistics to the Fresh Produce Centre on a weekly basis. This can currently be done in 3 different ways: via the online portal, via Excel lists or via an API link.
To support GreenCommerce users as well as possible, an integration has been realized with the Export Statistics System of Fresh Produce Centre. Robert Bakker of Fresh Produce Centre emphasizes the importance of data collection: “Because we collect data at both product and weekly level, we have a unique combination of information available that helps us strengthen the market position of our members. The integration with GreenCommerce provides an easy way of collecting this data. For companies that export many products to multiple countries, the API link is a great solution. Because the data is supplied directly from the system, it is maintenance-free and error-free.”
Within the fresh produce software package, users can manage and send export statistics to Fresh Produce Centre via a new screen. This concerns data relating to cross-border goods within Europe. To be able to use the integration, users must link the KCB groups and countries once to the master data as known at Fresh Produce Centre.
The new screen is divided into 2 parts, with the top part showing the sales order lines of the selected week. The lower part shows an aggregate of the number of net kilos per country of destination with the associated reporting group. If data does not match the data known to Fresh Produce Centre, it will be colored in red. Any missing master links are immediately indicated in the error message panel. This makes it clear to users at a glance which data needs extra attention. The data from GreenCommerce is compared in real time with data from Fresh Produce Centre, so that any corrections can be made quickly and easily.
Berry van Zijp, implementation specialist at jem-id, begins: “Various customers asked us whether such an integration with Fresh Produce Centre was available. After a short inventory, we decided to take up the challenge ourselves and further perfect the integration together with Zijtwende International as the first customer.”
Robert Bakker concludes: “jem-id was one of the first to work with our API to create an integration with their fresh produce software package GreenCommerce. The cooperation was very pleasant due to the short lines and regular contact moments.”
