First roadmap topic: Re-inspection with the QC App
In 2022, with the Watermelon release, various developments have already been made in the QC App, whereby an autmated mechanism has been created for performing quality inspections. Based on the roadmap, a follow-up is planned for the first quarter of 2023. Specific re-inspection settings based on the 'type' of product must ensure professionalisation in the quality process.
Phasing out FreshTracker -> QC App
Last year, the FreshTracker application was phased out and replaced by the technically better equipped Quality Control (QC) App. The next topic on the roadmap relates to the controlled inspection and re-inspection of the 'type' of product. This topic was also included in the roadmap last year, with the foundation already laid to standardize the process.
Based on expected receipts, office workers can give specific instructions to inspectors to inspect goods. This is a valuable addition, especially when a company works with an external warehouse and/or external inspector. The commercial employees at the office use this to effectively direct the inspectors to inspect specific batches or pallets. Furthermore, it often happens that goods have to 'stay overnight' at a location, which means that an extra inspection moment has to be planted. This is already possible in both GreenCommerce and the QC App.
The process in the QC App is easy to follow for quality employees or inspectors by means of instructions in the menu of the QC App. In principle, the inspection follows the same steps as any other inspection, but an option has been added to the last step to indicate a desired re-inspection after a number of days. This is saved in GreenCommerce, which automatically creates a new inspection when the period of the number of days has expired. In the QC App, the inspection for the re-inspection then appears in the (new) instruction overview.
Developments for the first quarter of 2023
This quarter we started processing the collected feedback from previous period. For example, we have cleared the way for service providers so that they can carry out their own inspections and share the results with clients. This gives service providers more freedom instead of being dependent on the other party.
One of the new functionalities focuses on facilitating the technical structure to allow external partners (such as grower/DC/..) to be inspected in the trading company's system. In the future, new insights based on data processing may be are added.
For example, there is a new 'Stock' menu item with which the pallet stock per sub-location can be made transparent. After a sublocation has been chosen, the status of the inspection and any need for re-inspection are indicated for each pallet. The pallets that require re-inspection are also indicated visually.
A red dot in the re-inspection date column indicates that the re-inspection should have taken place either today or in the past. A yellow dot indicates that the re-inspection must take place tomorrow. If no dot is displayed, no re-inspection date has been entered or the re-inspection must take place later than tomorrow.
Clicking on a pallet displays more detailed information about the pallet's inspection status, including all inspection reports created for the selected pallet. The inspection reports can be easily viewed by clicking on them. The inspection report opens in a pop-up so that the detailed screen of the pallet remains open.
Viewing the detailed information of a pallet can also be done by scanning a pallet sticker or by entering the last 3 digits of the pallet number in the '#Pallet' input field.
Create inspection reports
It is possible to create a new inspection report via the pallet detail screen. The choice can be made to inspect only the scanned pallet or all active pallets of the scanned batch(es). With this choice, the report is automatically filled with the correct information. It is also possible to create an inspection report based on an existing inspection report. To do this, you need to look in an existing inspection report and click on the button for 're-inspection'.
Extensions in GreenCommerce
The inspection reports screen in GreenCommerce has also been expanded with order, batch and pallet information. This expansion provides better insight into which orders and goods are involved in inspection reports and makes it easier to distinguish between different suppliers and/or item groups. The filters offer the possibility to also search specifically for suppliers or item groups within a certain period.
A new screen has also been added that is based on batch stock from the stock screen to display the current quality status and the re-inspection requirement of stock. Here, stock information is combined with inspection information that provides quick insight into the active inspection code of batches and shows the progress of the re-inspection.
