Quality control via FreshTracker - GreenCommerce

Quality control via FreshTracker

FreshTracker quality control application for the fresh produce industry

In the field of approvals and quality control, you can work in two different ways within GreenCommerce. The first way (and the simplest variant) is the integrated inspection module with which a user directly enters inspection data into the system. Selecting batches and / or pallets that are involved in an inspection is a manual action. The second way is to register inspection reports via FreshTracker inspection application and to retrieve the results from your own system. Users work via an app with which barcodes can be scanned, after which the registration of an inspection starts.

Until recently, for users who process inspections via FreshTracker, it has been necessary to have an extra barcode printed on the pallet labels so that these codes can be scanned for the inspection process. Because there are two barcodes on a pallet label, this can cause confusion for users. From the market, we note that it also happens quite regularly that pallets change hands, whereby it is not always necessary (or even desirable!) to print new pallet labels and attach them to the pallets.

Online service as a solution
These two problems have made us think and have led to a solution that (a) eliminates the need to print extra barcodes on pallet labels, and (b) makes it possible to reuse a supplier's pallet number for your own inspection process. The result is an online solution where different 'identifiers' can be linked to one pallet. Think of your own pallet number, but also the pallet number of the supplier, an SSCC number, or the FreshTracker number of the party to which the pallet belongs. These links can be automatically created from GreenCommerce, this takes place completely in the background via the new underlying architecture.

This new way of registering suddenly creates many more possibilities when it comes to identifying specific pallets. Because multiple 'identifiers' can be used to indicate one pallet, tools that use, for example, scanning can immediately simplify the process. In the example of FreshTracker, for example, it is now possible to easily use your own pallet numbers for an inspection registration. Even if a product is supplied by external suppliers, but where the pallet number is also used for the internal process, this number can be used directly as input for the own inspection process.

Future
The first application of this online solution has already been found in the form of FreshTracker. More applications will follow in the future, which will make the process in a warehouse more efficient and simpler. Think of accelerated registration of incoming goods during receipts by being able to use the pallet numbers of suppliers directly.
