Who can play sports well together can also collaborate well. On January 24, the GreenCommerce Padel event took place at Plaza Padel in Rijswijk, bringing together customers and partners. As the name suggests, the event kicked off with a padel tournament and concluded with a tapas dinner and drinks. The winning team got a €500 check to donate to a charity of their choice. As the cherry on top, the roadmap for 2025 was presented to all attendees for the very first time.
Playing sports for a good cause
The Padel event was organized specifically for GreenCommerce users, aiming to unite the sector in an informal setting. In addition to networking and introducing the 2025 roadmap, participants competed fiercely for an important prize: a €500,- check for a charity of their choice. It was a close match, but in the end, the prize was awarded to BE Fresh Produce.

The fresh produce industry future proof: Roadmap 2025 presented
Each year, GreenCommerce presents its roadmap outlining planned developments to elevate the fresh produce sector to new heights. The roadmap provides customers with insight into upcoming advancements and features a mix of innovative, impactful and essential developments tailored to all target groups within the fresh produce industry. Just before the tournament began, Martijn van Andel, owner of jem-id, took the stage: "At GreenCommerce, we believe that collaboration is the key to success. Over the years, we’ve seen partnerships strengthen with the introduction of our roadmap. You can see this reflected in the amazing projects we’ve had the privilege to undertake. Through countless conversations with customers and other companies in the sector, we’ve developed a clear vision of where we want to take GreenCommerce. This year, too, the roadmap reflects our commitment to elevating the sector to the next level."
Martijn then highlighted the ‘Paperless Warehouses’ initiative, which plays a major role in this year’s roadmap: “With the ‘Paperless Warehouses’ initiative, we address a crucial aspect of the roadmap. Our goal is to achieve full digitalization of warehouse processes, which until now have largely relied on paper. This includes pick lists, work orders, and the inspection process, as well as completing checklists and assigning batches to production orders by the inspector. This initiative impacts various elements of the GreenCommerce Apps landscape, including the Production App and the WMS App.”
After the tournament, it was time to unwind and reflect over some food and drinks, before guests headed home with a well-filled goodie bag.
