GreenCommerce Apps inspired new layout for GreenXchange
In 2022, a new technical update was planned for our linked grower platform GreenXchange. The previous technical structure was no longer fully supported in the new year. This did not immediately cause problems for useage, but could in the long run ensure that certain functionalities no longer worked or that no changes could be made to the platform. To be able to continue developing, an update in the front-end of GreenXchange was required.
Minimal impact for users
Because the developments of GreenCommerce Apps are getting further and further, we have consciously chosen to adopt the layout of GreenCommerce Apps for GreenXchange. This ensures that GreenXchange is even better integrated within GreenCommerce.
A development method has been used in which the current GreenXchange continues to run while the new version can be converted per menu item. This minimizes the impact of the transition for users and does not require a specific time to go live. This way JEM-id maintains the focus to make new developments and there is no downtime!
From the second quarter of 2021, preparations have been made to convert the technique, AngularJS, to the same technique in which GreenCommerce Apps was set up. Later the focus was on transferring functionalities from AngularJS to Angular.
Layout based on best practices from Microsoft and Google
The new layout is built on the basis of 'best practices' from Microsoft and Google. Much focus has been placed on overview and insight into data. GreenXchange can also be installed as an app on your phone or tablet.
