Four complex but successful GreenCommerce implementations

JEM-id has successfully completed four impactful implementations in the first quarter of 2022 at Marni Fruit, BIO-Center ZANN, African Growers Cooperation U.A. and Harva International. The GreenCommerce implementations were started after extensive inventories and intensive preliminary processes. After that, the implementations were divided into phases and supplemented with training courses so that the biggest challenges were tackled before the live runs.
Successful impactful implementations
It can be challenging for an organization to start with a new software package. During the first quarter of this year, JEM-id welcomed a number of organizations as new GreenCommerce users. The implementations were perceived as 'impactful' but 'successful'. Marni Fruit, BIO-Center ZANN, African Growers Cooperation U.A. and Harva International have successfully gone live. During the go live, implementation specialists were present to tackle possible minor issues and answer questions from employees. Martijn van Andel (JEM-id) notes: "Implementations can have a big impact on an organization, which is why we at JEM-id divide them into phases so that it remains 'manageable' both for the client and for us. This is all about good preparation and communication, so you both don't get any surprises.
Pre-selection and initial phase of software implementations
The implementation process already starts with the pre-selection. GreenCommerce focuses primarily on fresh produce players such as exporters, importers, packers, logistics service providers, grower associations and trade organizations. During the introduction, JEM-id already sees if an organization is a match and if a follow-up can be started. Then JEM-id looks at which package suits the company best. Is this only a basic package that runs in the cloud for smaller companies without their own warehouse or is it a more extensive variant whereby a private server is required and the package has additional functionalities such as a WMS, quality control application or multicompany for multiple Ltd.
GreenCommerce go live with training courses
Within JEM-id, more than 60 employees work in teams on software solutions for companies active in the floriculture and fresh produce sector. Some of the JEM-id implementation specialists who often visit fresh produce organizations are Casper Opstal, Jaap Kool and René Koene: "Daily processes do not usually change with the arrival of a new system, but a good implementation provides the organization with much more insight with which they can optimize their processes. When a new system is introduced, it is extremely important that there is support throughout the organization. All employees can benefit from the new system when it is well explained. Our implementations are therefore often accompanied by a lot of personal attention and intensive training at every level of the organization. We want to achieve that every employee understands how his/her registrations contribute to insights and immediate and future process optimizations."
Successful go live Marni Fruit
One of the customers that went live during the first quarter is Marni Fruit. Marco de Keijzer (Marni Fruit) was skeptical about going live beforehand, but fortunately experienced it as positive: "Before going live, a professional team from JEM-id was ready to give training courses to our employees. This was well received. By clicking along in GreenCommerce during the training courses, they immediately got a feeling for it. Currently we work daily with the software and there is a support team available from JEM-id in case we really run into something. We are satisfied with the 'end result', although we shouldn't call it like that, because as an organization we are always innovating and are never really 'done' with developments."

Sector knowledge and trends
Knowledge within the sector is very important for JEM-id, also when hiring new employees. In addition, the software company keeps a close eye on trends and shifts in the market. Berry van Zijp (implementation specialist at JEM-id) has noticed that this works to his advantage: "Before I started working for JEM-id, I spent quite some time working for a growers' association, where I got to know the fresh produce sector very well. I can use the knowledge and experience that I gained and the network I built every day in my current job. We often know very quickly what is going on, what customers find important and also what challenges there are, or may come in the future. Besides GreenCommerce implementations, I find it interesting to dive into more complex issues. Think of coming up with solutions around the Brexit and additional challenges around digitization of customs, VAT and import duties. We sit down with the customer and together come up with a working (time-saving) solution that really makes them happy.''
