Extensions in the WMS App: multi-user order picking, quickly moving pallets and lane planning
With the arrival of the Ximenia release, various new functionalities have also been added in the WMS App and GreenCommerce. The developments focus on smart functionalities within the App and more information in GreenCommerce.
Developments in GreenCommerce
The option to indicate a pick-up time within a pick list was already there. However, it is now also possible to indicate a dock sub-location and to link an order picker to the pick list. By releasing pick lists, order pickers can also appropriate pick lists themselves.
The button 'assign order picker' has been removed and replaced by 'release pick list'. If you click on this, a screen will appear in which various data can be entered, such as the desired start time for order picking and a deadline (if this is different from the pick-up time). If this field is left blank, the pick-up time will be used as the deadline. In addition to a dock location, it is also possible to indicate a 'building location' (also called a construction location or lane) in this screen. This is a location where order pickers can place their belongings if the dock location is not (yet) suitable for this due to cooled products or fuss at the dock. An administrative type hangs on the dock; 'Standard', 'Dock' or 'Orderpick'.
It has also been made possible to work on one pick list with multiple order pickers; this can be indicated in GreenCommerce by entering the desired order pickers comma-separated in the field. After the pick list has been released, all information is returned to the 'Planned shipments' screen.
Developments in the WMS App:
When the pick list appears on the dashboard, you will see the changes immediately. This information is also available within the pick list. On the place where previously the information about the pick-up time and the dock was, is now also the start and end time shown. If a deadline has been set, the pick-up time will not be transparent to the order picker. The order picking locations are made adjustable via the 3 dots.
A construction site mainly focuses on assembling mix pallets. When a construction site is created, a pallet package and sub-location must be selected. These are suggested by default from the pick list.
During the picking of products, a new option has been developed to link a product directly to the construction pallet, instead of having to split it first. This improves the speed because the number of actions is minimized to one.
When a product must be placed on an active pallet within the pick list, this can be indicated when splitting. A pop-up will then appear with additional information about who picked that pallet. This is an interesting addition when using multi-user order picking. The order picker returns in various screens and will be indicated in red when it concerns an active construction pallet. This data has also been made available in GreenCommerce by means of logging.
Furthermore, a new menu item has been added to quickly move a pallet without having to leave the active pick list. Previously, this required a number of actions in the application. Via the new menu item you come to a pop-up screen, after which you scan or enter the pallet and sub location. Then you can quickly move the pallets and close the screen. After this you will immediately return to your active pick list.
Finally, new functionalities have been added for arrivals. This is especially useful for companies that work with incoming goods where it is already known in advance what will arrive and which pallet numbers are attached to it. When you search on a pallet number, the App opens the corresponding purchase, where the data of the purchase order is also shown. The pallet is then automatically ticked because that is the one you want to register. You can also immediately scan or check the other pallets to perform the same action.
