Optimal control over the registration of elements in the fresh produce industry via the elements package
Many fresh produce companies deal with different types of packaging on a daily basis, such as packaging materials and carriers such as pallets. Having control over both your own packaging stock and the stock that is placed with other parties is an administrative bottleneck for many companies. There are also a large number of companies that purchase packaging materials and elements and then have this used by an external party for the packaging process. With the Elements package from GreenCommerce, both types of companies get control over their entire packaging stock and the financial administration that comes with it. New developments have recently been made in GreenCommerce's Elements package, which means that the extension fits in even better in the fresh produce software.
Who does the Elements package apply to?
The elements expansion of GreenCommerce is of value to various types of fresh produce companies. The package is set up in such a way that the various processes related to packaging are all linked to each other. A packaging or production-driven company, for example, greatly benefits from real-time insight into the physical stock of elements. A trading company, on the other hand, often benefits more from a clear insight into open and outstanding packaging balances. With the Elements package there is control over which elements are delivered and which ones will be returned.
Satisfied users
Timerfruit is an import and export specialist of overseas fruit. Timerfruit controls the entire process from plantation to the consumer, in which quality, continuity, flexibility and cost control are central. Danny Verstappen, responsible for logistics within Timerfruit, has been working with the GreenCommerce elements package since the beginning: “The GreenCommerce Elements package takes over a lot of work because everything within the system is linked and connects well. The elements are stored at third parties, such as the Karsten Group Holding in Hook of Holland." South African producer Karsten Group Holding has been participating in Timerfruit since 2014. Karsten Group Holding is a leading producer of grapes, citrus, stone fruit, dates, apples and pears in South Africa. ”The EPS crates and Interseroh crates we use are all our own, but because we have an external warehouse, we store them elsewhere. It is therefore extra important for us to have the packaging registration in order.”
New developments
With the arrival of the Raspberry release, new developments have been added to the Elements package from GreenCommerce. New developments ensure further optimization of the packaging registration, so that fresh produce companies have better insight into their own packaging stocks and the packaging that is stored with third parties. For example, a new screen has been developed that shows the expected stock per element for the coming days and weeks. This screen shows the elements for which the stock has to be registered. In addition, packaging returns can now be checked and handled without having to use a separate Excel file. The packaging deliveries in the “planned shipments” screen have also been made much clearer because the shipment schedule no longer needs to be opened. With the new developments, the Elements package has been made more complete, whereby in addition to keeping physical containers, the financial settlement is now also covered within GreenCommerce. A complete overview of changes within the Fust package can be found in the release notes of the Raspberry release.
